Polaroid | Short Horror Film

Happy Birthday, mom.
I wish you were here.

- Jumpy, are we?
They’re coming for you, Barbara.
- [laughs] Grow up.
How'd you know I was here?
- [Tiffany] Well, you weren’t at home
and then I remembered it’s your’s mom’s Birthday.
Next time, maybe just answer your texts
and I won’t have to hunt you down.
- Sorry [sighs].
It’s been one of those days.
- [Tiffany] Well, I brought your homework like you asked.
- Thanks, Tiffany.
[Barbara] What's this?
- Your photography assignment, I think.
[cellphone rings]
Hey, mom.
Yeah, I know.
I’m literally walking up to the front door now.
Okay, bye.

- What is it?
- I just got this strange feeling.

What?
- [Barbara] Nothing, it’s just, you and ghosts.
- [Tiffany] Well, if you’re such a non-believer,
then why are you here?
- I don't know.
- [Tiffany] Exactly.
See you at school, Monday?
- [Barbara] Yeah, I'll be there.
- [Tiffany] Alright, bye.
- [Barbara] Bye.

Day in your life.
For the next twenty four hours
this camera is your companion as you document your day.
Try to get a wide, varied range of photographs
blah, blah, blah.

- Hello?
- [Barbara] Hey, I need to tell you something,
but you have to promise not to laugh.
- [Tiffany] What is it?
- [Barbara] Promise first.
- Okay, I promise I won't laugh.
[Tiffany] Now what is it?
- I think I'm being followed by a
ghost.
[Barbara] Did you hear me?
[laughs]
[Barbara] Tiffany, you promised.
I’m sorry, it’s just
a ghost?
You don’t even believe in ghosts,
remember.
- Well,
maybe I changed my mind.
Now can you just tell me what to do?
- [Tiffany] Where did you first see the ghost?
- [Barbara] At the cemetery.
[Barbara] I saw her right after you left.
- She?
- [Barbara] Yeah. This creepy woman in all black.
I took a photo of her and now she’s in all my pictures.
- This is serious.
- [Barbara] Yeah, I know.
So, what do I do?
- [Tiffany] Are you home?
- [Barbara] No, I’m walking there now.
- [Tiffany] As soon as you get home
line all the doors and windows with salt.
This will keep anything from getting inside.
- What's going to get inside?
- [Tiffany] Nothing,
so long as you line the doors and windows.
And make sure there’s no breaks in the lines.
[Tiffany] Okay?
- Okay.
- Okay, I'm meeting you at your house.
[Tiffany] I’ll be there now.
- See you soon.

- Barbara?
I let myself in with your spare key.
Barbara?
[Tiffany] Barbara?
