It was a dream of mine to travel toalbuquerque for the annual hot airballoon festivalit's where dad proposed to mom manymoons agomom was finally ready to take us therejust us girlsshe wanted to relive tired and looking forward to bedjust a few more hours until sunrise andthe hot air balloon festivaldad would have loved to be herea tinge of sadness washed over me as iremembered his passing yet i should stepoutside but decided to just do itsince i had been putting it off for fartoo longmy main obligations during the trip weredriving and garbagei stepped outside and looked for thedumpster i ran as fast as i could thereand backbut when i was approaching the rvi noticed scratches on the back of thevehicle and what looked like bloodi suddenly felt like i was being watchedbut shrugged it offas i was entering the rv i saw somethingfrom my peripheral vision in thedarknessi saw an animal unlike anything i'd everseen beforei quickly shut the doorwhat's wrong with you nowi saw itwe need to leavei agreewhat but you haven't experienced the hotair balloons yetbut it's okayif you don't feel safe then it's best weleaveanna and i looked at each other and feltguiltymom has been really depressed sincedad's passing this trip was mainly forherwe decided that we'd leave right afterthe festival and headed to bedwe woke up before sunrisethat way we would be the first guest atthe festival and find a place to parkthe rvit was mom's turn to drive and i sleptin a little morethat was untili immediately got out of bedmom was driving as fast as she could andscreaminganna and i ran to the passenger seatthe creaturei looked away as soon as i saw it andyelled for them to do the samebut i'll never forget what i sawin that split second i got a good lookat itit looked really oddit was as if a man had taken a wolfskinned it and wore its fur and head asclothingand he had really really long limbsrunning on its hind legs at the samespeed as the rvmy heart was beating out of my chestand i thought i was going to have aheart attack when i heard it scratchingon the side of the rvmom sped up and started praying as loudas she couldand i was crying hysterically i keptreminding her to breathe and to keep hereyes on mei looked at it for a second and saw itsbones crack and reform as it startedrunning on all foursits body was all covered in fur nowand in about three seconds was now whatappeared to be a wolfand it miraculously ran off into thewoods out of viewa few seconds later we heard the policesirens and were pulled over for speedingi never thought i'd be so relieved to bein trouble with the lawwe explained what we saw and thepoliceman had a serious look on his facehe decided to not give us a ticketand let us go with just a warningto get out of the area as soon aspossible and to not look backi'm sorry guysbut we're not going to the festivalmom kept driving until we were out ofalbuquerque and she didn't stopwe should have taken that left turn atalbuquerquemaybe this could have all been avoided
